I LOVE dj’ing, and I absolutly LOVE vinyl. I love music, I like gear, and I love turntables. Especialy the Technics SL-1210 mk2. Being the nr. 1 selling turntable and housing thousands and thousands of clubs worldwide for the last 35 years makes a clear statement; It IS the one and only. Unfortunatly rumours are now saying that Panasonic (Technics) will stop the production of the magnificent piece of machinery in februrary, due to a decline in sales. An understandable act considering the fact that most of even the oldest superstar DJs that was with us from the very beginning, has converted to digital players. We always new this would happen, but I didn’t think it would for the next 10 years or so.

I own two of the beasts, and I shall keep them forever. Now my only question is if I should buy the top-of-the-line-ultra-deluxe version of the 1210 mk2, before it’s too late. I’ll think long and hard about out. In any case, rest in piece.
I just stumbled upon this image, showing the line of turntables since 1970. Impressive how little has changed since the very first 1200 mk2-model (1979). Obviously they hit the spot right from the start.
