Bornholm

I just got home from Bornholm. It was nice to see the family again, even though I didn’t get nearly as much done as I was hoping for – I’ll have to come back again soon. I don’t go there nearly as much as I would like to. These days I find myself unusually attracted to nature, so leaving Copenhagen from time to time is a breeze.

Jakob

Artwork by Jakob Martin Strid.

Jakob

A couple of days ago I ran into an old friend of mine, Jakob. Back when I was in elementary school, he took me in for a week of intense drawing, but I havn’t really seen him since then. He asked me if I would help him out with a new website, and I most certainly will. It will be nice to work with an artist for a change, I can’t wait to get started.

Ford Galaxie

Ford Galaxie

I would love to own an old Ford Galaxie police car. It’s such a sweet ride.

Pic related: It’s the KLF car in a scene from Blade Runner. Which is such a sweet movie.

Samyang 14mm f/2.8

Samyang 14mm f/2.8

I’ve wanted a proper wide-angle lens for as long as I can remember photographing, but unfortunatly a proper wide-angle are dreadfullt expensive. Sure, you could go for a ‘cheap’ fisheye, but the distortion are so heavy that I would probably only use it for snowboarding. Or I could go for a lens-baby, but they just feel so. Well, plastic. What I really, really want is the Canon 14mm, by god that’s a sweet piece of equipment, but it’s so fucking pricey.

Luckily I stumbled upon the relatively new Samyang 14mm the other day! Samyang are basically known for making really crappy tele-lenses, but rumor has it that their new wide-angles delivers an (keeping in mind the low cost) outstanding quality, compared to the Canon 14mm.

In Denmark, the Samyang sets you back 2.400 kr, and Canon the mindblowing amount of 16.200 kr. Naturally I would prefer the Canon, but you get the picture.

The death of Dreamweaver

The death of Dreamweaver

I’ve been using Dreamweaver for coding for quite some years now. I’ve never really been thinking about alternatives, as I write all the code myself, so I didn’t think there was anything to gain by switching application. Yesterday Dreamweaver stopped working – completely stopped. I have no idea if it’s because of the software myself, og the OS, and I don’t really care at all. As I sat there contemplating about how to get Dreamweaver to function again, I got reminded of all the little things that’s been bugging me about it over the years. It’s not that it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, it just doesn’t do it nicely.

So instead of fighting an epic battle with Dreamweaver I searched Google for alternatives, and it came up with TextWrangler – and boy that made me happy. I’ve been using it for 24 hours now, and it’s so smooth. It does what it’s supposed to – nothing more, nothing less. Fantastic. It almost feels like being back using UltraEdit!
